Alignment In Our Bodies

Muscles are fascinating! They tell us so much about our alignment - in body and in the world.
I remain really deeply moved by the awesome conversations we’ve been having in the Your Body Is Yours to Know cohorts. At our last gathering of the Wednesday cohort, we explored our muscles and fascia, the concept or definition of strength, and the importance of bringing an awareness of strength into supporting our bodies in presence and alignment. Being in alignment allows our muscles to relax. Tense or tight muscles offer communication that our body is out of alignment. This misalignment can be structural, about our relationship to the world around us, or both.
My curiosity and invitation to all of us (including myself) is to reflect on what feels like alignment in our bodies and how we are placed out of alignment through our choices and how we respond to the world around us.
Sometimes, muscle tension is a communication that our body would benefit from more magnesium, especially when many muscles are tense at the same time. We discussed how our magnesium needs are often beyond what we can get through food and can shift for different people at different times. When we are in times of higher stress, we use more magnesium and thus our needs are higher. For humxns with a monthly hormone cycle, magnesium needs shift through the month, with an increase as one approaches a space of bleeding.
